Overview
Junk Food Clothing — Exploring LA Street Culture Commissioned Project Overview Junk Food Clothing wanted to strengthen its social credentials by connecting directly with its young, urban audience. We were commissioned to explore the cultural and aesthetic values of Los Angeles street style, emphasizing authenticity, individuality, and effortless self-expression. The Journey: Documentary & Visual Storytelling We produced a five-part documentary series capturing the spirit, style, and daily lives of LA’s youth. Alongside the films, we developed a visual campaign, a limited-edition magazine featuring local voices, and conducted culture mapping across four neighborhoods. Culture Mapping Our ethnographic research identified key spaces where street culture thrives—from skate parks and basketball courts to music venues and hidden creative hubs. These insights revealed how style, community, and attitude intersect in LA’s urban landscape. Visual Inspiration Through street-level storytelling, photography, and documentary footage, we captured genuine expressions of youth identity, providing visual and cultural material for Junk Food Clothing’s campaigns and design inspiration. Impact & Outcome The project strengthened the brand’s connection with its urban audience, informed creative campaigns, and positioned Junk Food Clothing as an authentic voice in LA’s streetwear scene.
